The remastered version of Final Fantasy 8 is a good way to relive nostalgic memories. However, it is not the best remaster and has some issues. The game contains a great soundtrack and a unique story but the remaster seems like a cash grab as not enough effort was put into it. The backgrounds of the game were lazily upscaled and the polygons of the world map and 3D battle scenes are extremely blocky. The only benefit to playing this version is the built-in booster cheat which speeds up gameplay and avoids battles. This game may be polarizing to some but it is still a classic and a must-have for any Final Fantasy fan. If possible, it is still recommended to play the original version of the game over this remaster.
