Answer: Yes, it does come with a cable supporting USB 3.1 that you can use to connect to your computer's USB port. Please note that you can only achieve maximum transfer speed when connecting to USB 3.0 port. -

How is this better than a flash drive with 256mb?
Answer: 1. This is 256GB --- 1000x bigger than 256MB. 2. Read/write speeds of flash drives are typically much slower than this kind of SSD (10x or more-- some flash drives are faster, but typical inexpensive flash drives can be quite slow.) Current high speed 256GB flash drives perform around 200MB/s (so this is SSD 2x faster). Also due to their size, many thumb-drive sized flash drives are often prone to overheating when used under heavy load (large files for long duration). -

Answer: I have it working with an Xbox one x so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with a s. -

Explain the cable in detail please. Is it 3.0 male to 3.1 male?
Answer: The cable is roughly 1 foot long, total, with a USB 3.0 Male at one end for connecting to the USB port on your computer, and a USB 3.0 Micro-B connector at the other for connecting to the SSD. It is a very common configuration (probably the most common) for use with portable drives. There is no difference between USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 connectors. -

I see it's compatible with macos but is it compatible with ios? i have an ipad. thank you.
Answer: IOS currently does not support the ability to access external storage devices. But as far as I'm aware, the newest version of iPad OS allows external storage devices to be accessed, so as long as you have a usb adapter to connect the ssd with, you should be able to use it. -

Answer: It will depend on the system you are connecting to but for most modern PC’s and XBOX Ones it works like a flash drive. -

Answer: I use it as hard drive for a gaming console. I’d be confident in its abilities for dvr and pvr.
