Answer: They are the perfect complement to fretless basses. -
Question:

Answer: Yes, you can pair a bridge position DiMarzio Model J with a DiMarzio Model P pickup for even more varied tones. -
Question:
Anyone use these with push/pull pots? If so, which ones would best suit these pickups?
Answer: Depends on what your trying to do. Series/parallel any CTS push pots will work just fine. -
Question:
Will these fit in 2013 made in mexico jazz bass? and will it reduce the hum?
Answer: Yes they will fit mim jazz bass. nNo, they don’t cancel or reduce the hum -
Question:
Can these work on a 5 string?
Answer: The DP123 pickups are specifically designed for a four-string bass, they will not work on a 5-string. You might consider the Area J 5 or the UltraJazz 5 pickups instead. -
Question:
I understand pre-2000 mim jazz basses use a different size bridge pickup. which set of these would work in my '97?
Answer: Your bass has two short Jazz pickups so you would need Bartolini Originals sn/sb or an EMJ MJ (Mexican Jazz) set. Look here https://www.bestbassgear.com/emg-j-series-stacked-coil-jazz-bass-pickup.htm -
Question:
are these active pickups or passive?
Answer: The pickups themselves are passive which is typical of bass pickups. Very few bass pickups are actually active. Usually its the preamp that is active when people talk about active vs passive basses. If the preamp needs a battery, you have an active bass with an active equalizer. If not, you have a passive bass preamp. I think EMG makes active pickups, but I'm not 100% on that. Not real common in my humble opinion. -
Question:
Will these fit a Squire J Bass?
Answer: Yes. J Bass Pickups designed for a standard Fender will fit on a standard Squire J Bass. Same sizing specifications are standard on both modern Fender J's and Squire J's. -
Question:
Will the dimarzo dp123 bridge j pickup fit on an ibanez mikro bass?
Answer: Yep. The Mikro bass uses full size pickups. Usually a P/J combo though. Unless you want two J’s like this set. -
Question:
Can the covers on these pickups be removed?
Answer: The covers on these pickups are not removable. -
Question:
Will this work on a mid 90`s mim jazz fender?
Answer: I've got two MIM deluxe active and they fit. Both are made after 2000, but they should fit yours too. Make sure you wire the neck and bridge pickups in the right spot. I had them backwards once and I was cussing myself. Just do a 'dry fit' first and you'll be fine. -
Question:
Are these alnico V magnets?
Answer: I don’t believe so, they are listed on dimarzio’s website as ceramic magnets. Hope this is helpful.
