The ECWCS parka is a Generation 1 waterproof shell that is designed to work with other ECWCS liners for warmth. The parka is oversized to accommodate the liners, and it is suggested to buy a black Gen 2 ECWCS liner for civilian use. There is no insulation in the jacket on its own. The parka comes in various sizes depending on the height and weight of the person. There is no fur on the hood, but fur attachments are available.
