The finish is very smooth and looks like gold plating. Although the watch is made in China, it has no issues so far. The self-winder makes the watch a little thicker than a comparable Charles Hubert pocket watch. The front surface is covered with organic glass, and the back is mineral glass. The moon phase dial is functional, showing the sun during the day and the moon at night.
