The upper slide of the sandal is synthetic, which is far easier to care for than leather. The Kulia uses a vegetable-tanned Italian leather on both sides of the strap, which is different from the Mea Ola that uses a premium full-grain leather. While some customers have had issues with the adjustable flaps, most have loved the comfort and look of these sandals.
