The Zircon 64003 Leak Alert Electronic Water Detector is a valuable asset to prevent water damage in homes. This one-pack comes with one 3V lithium battery, and it is designed to detect small amounts of water before it becomes a problem. The device will beep when the battery is low or when any water sufficient to get the bottom of the unit wet will be set off. It is not recommended to use this device in an attic that gets hotter than 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The device is sensitive, and it will detect a water leak even with a few drops of water. The alarm sound is very loud, and it is comparable to a smoke detector. The two metal contacts on the bottom of the unit activate the alarm when connected by water.
