In this editorial review we took a look at the Smart Plug EIGHTREE. The Smart plug works with Alexa and Google Home and is compatible with SmartThings. It allows for WiFi remote control and timer function but only operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The Smart Life app is used to program the plugs while the Alexa app can be used to turn them on/off. Unfortunately, notifications cannot be sent and extension cords cannot be used with the plugs. Customers are able to add the switch to Home Assistant by downloading the Tuya plug-in, and there are instructions on how to pair the plugs with SmartThings in the FAQ. However, some customers had difficulty setting the plugs up and could not get them to work with Alexa. There were also some comments about needing to use higher amps for the plugs, with a recommendation for 15 instead of 10.
