Answer: The ioSafe Solo G3 includes a Data Recovery Service (DRS) for any reason. -

Is this for Mac?
Answer: Yes, like all hard drives, the compatibility depends on how the drive is formatted. If you use it with Apple's Time Machine and OS X 10.9 or 10.10, the computer will prompt you and it will erase and reformat the drive into the HFS+ format preferred by TimeMachine. If you use the drive for any other Macintosh-specific purpose, it is suggested to repartition using Apple's Disk Utility. The drive does not come with any backup software but is supported by ioSafe for their data-recovery service. -

Can these be daisy chained together? I'm using this as an expansion drive and would like to add one to it to double the storage at some point.
Answer: The ioSafe G3 is the same as any other standard external USB drive. So the limitation is not with the ioSafe G3 but what system you are connecting them to and the required software/hardware needed. -

Answer: The ioSafe Solo G3 is a single drive unit and does not support RAID. You would have full use of the 4TB drive. If you are looking for a RAID unit, they have the ioSafe 218 NAS or the ioSafe Duo units. -
