Bread Format: Audio CD Pop CDRN98355 Editorial Review
**** The "Bread - Original Album Series" offers a comprehensive collection that encapsulates the essence of the beloved soft rock band, Bread, whose melodic tunes and heartfelt lyrics captivated audiences during their active years from 1970 to 1977. This compilation features five CDs that include some of their most iconic hits, such as "Make It with You," "If," and "Everything I Own," providing fans an opportunity to revisit or discover the smooth melodies that defined a generation. Listeners appreciate the crystal-clear sound quality that stays true to the original recordings, successfully evoking nostalgia without unnecessary remixes or alterations. Music aficionados highlight that, while Bread is often categorized strictly as a soft rock band, some tracks showcase a more upbeat and rock-oriented side, broadening the appeal for fans beyond just the softer tunes. Reviewers have praised the collection for being an outstanding bargain, often remarking on how affordable it is compared to the price of single albums. The artwork included in the cardboard sleeves provides a charming touch, enhancing the experience for collectors and longtime fans alike. Many reviewers reflect on their affection for the distinct songwriting talents within the band, particularly noting James Griffin's contributions that resonate strongly with listeners. Overall, the "Bread - Original Album Series" has been well-received for its rich catalog of music, sound fidelity, and value, reaffirming Bread's legacy in the soft rock genre. **
