Answer: Yes, The silk wrapped has a more mellow sound. -

Are these nickel plated?
Answer: To be honest with you I don’t remember but I would have remembered if it would’ve been nickel silver like on an electric guitar and they weren’t that. Now they’re more of like a goldish color on my guitar. I think you’ll like the sound quality. I like phosphor bronze but phosphor bronze a little bit too bright for my needs. I hope this helps. -
