What is the take-up distance (difference between the open and closed distance between the hooks)?
Answer: Its adjustable. It all depends on the distance between the hooks and the chain. You have to select the chain loop in order to get it tight. I would say it's approximately 6 to 10 inches. -

Is this product actually made in China and just distributed by American power pull?
Answer: Yes, it is. That said, it performed well for the single use that I needed it for.
